The LP at Drury

Well the new semester is about to start and has it been exciting. Classes were suppose to start last Wednesday but were postponed till Monday because of the ice storm. I returned to Springfield last Friday to beat the storm, I did but then I got to enjoy all of the after effects. First off, all of Drury, as well as most of Springfield lost power. Then as you walk around there were tree limbs falling everywhere wreaking all sorts of havoc. The first night Patrick, Bob, and I spend the night at Bob's parents house, the next day it lost power. The next night we stayed at James Couch's house along with JAG (James also). We left and two hours after that they lost power. The third night we stayed at Josh's parents house where they had a generator. Then the remaining nights we stayed at the FSC (Finley Student Center) where they had power from a generator and mattresses for us to sleep on. We finally got power back Wednesday night for a total of six days without power in our apartment. Also Phase I and Phase II of College Park (I live in Phase II) were the last places on campus to regain power. Then Thursday we discovered that some pipes has burst and that we didn't have water pressure, but it returned later that afternoon. So lets just say I have an interesting return to Drury.

Well the semester is winding down and finals are approaching. I am in a good mood since I had my final project critique yesterday and it went well. They liked my design and I got some good feedback from my critics. I will be coming home December 16 or 17, I haven't decided yet. Looking forward to some time at home for longer then 4 days. This past week I went to Arkansas for the day on an architecture fieldtrip. I went to see Thorncrown Chapel. It is a 48 foot tall chapel made of timber and class. It was really interesting to see. Then everyone who went (all of the second year architecture students) ate at Bubba's BBQ, it was good. Then half of us went to another chapel called the Cooper Chapel that was about an hour away. It is alot like Thorncrown but it is made out of steel and is a little more gothic. I posted pictures on photobucket, here is the link:

Well it has been a busy week so far. I have spent it working on a site model for my design class with 11 other people. Its a big model and unfortunatly we are still working on it, but this time the entire class is helping. Next week on Thursday, I will be going to Arkansas for the day for a fieldtrip. We are going to see a building I can't remember the name of so I will get out of classes for the day. Unfortunatly I have a cold right now but hopefully I will get over it soon.

Well it has been a while since I have updated and have heard people complaining a little, so here you go. I have been busy lately with classes but I am surviving. I just finished mid-terms and getting ready for the other half of the semester. Things are going good here in Springfield and I am having fun. I have also finalized the dates and I am going to Japan Dec. 30- Jan. 6 to go see my friend who is there for a year abroad. Otherwise nothing new and I will try to keep the blog updated more. :)

Hey everyone, thought I would drop you all another line. Well the semester is definatly in full swing and architecture is keeping me busy, but I am enjoying it. Also it is time to announce my next return to St. Louis, and it is October 20-22. It is my fall break, which starts that thursday but I have to work at the library on friday so I will be getting in at like 4:00 instead of 8:00 XD

Correction: Its the will be the 14-16 not the 20-22 :)

3 weeks of school are officially over YAY!!!! I am having a busy, homework filled weekend....two drawings, a paper, and three conceptual models all due on monday and tuesday. I currently have one drawing done and I am planning to doing the paper tonight. Tommorrow I am planning on being in the building all day, but I will have my laptop so it won't be so bad. It is the middle of the second week here at Drury and I am finally in the swing of things. Tomorrow I am going on my first fieldtrip for my Building Systems class, it the Precast Concrete something something. Basically I get to see them make pre-poured concrete forms. Oh and I now own a hardhat and safety glasses for my adventures. Otherwise nothing new. I am coming home this weekend but have plans for all three days. Friday: Sushi, Saturday: Going away party, Sunday: Possibly the Japanese Festival at the Botanical Gardens and somewhere in there is a little homework.

More news XD As of yesterday I am out of Manely Hall and back into College Park. I like my room better and the roommates seem better. I also have my work schedule, I am back to working saturdays :(, but it is at least only from 1-5. That will probably put a damper on weekend travels. Otherwise things are going good, I start classes today and am making money again.

Edit: Ok good news, the library is closed next weekend, labor day weekend so I will be able to come home after all. But still so baseball game /cries

Wow it has been a while since I have posted and soooooo much has happened. First if all, the summer has ended and fall starts on wednesday. Not too happy with my apartment and my roommate keeps a liquor store in his room. So thanks to my parents, I will hopefully be out of here soon. On another note, last week was my vacation to the Bahamas. Our stops were Nassau, Cococay (Royal Caribbean owned island), and Key West. I has alot of fun on vacation and plan to take cruises in the future. In Nassau I purchases 2 more masks for my collection bringing a total to 3. I got the one for $20 and haggled the other down from $50 to $25. I will try to upload the pictures from the cruise either today or tomorrow.

Well I just have to share this with everyone. I want you all to see what happens when the internet goes down at Drury, but fair warning, its not a pretty sight. Also this past weekend Pat and Wai came down and visited me XD My room is a little on the small side so Wai had to find a place to sleep.

Well less than a week to go for the summer then I am free for a whole 12 days. I am working on my final project and will finish this Friday. Next Monday is vacation XD and I can't wait, going on a cruise of the Bahamas. Otherwise nothing else is going on. OOHH and I still know math :D

Seven weeks down, three to go for the summer. My class is going good, just finished the second of four projects for the class and I am having fun with it. Otherwise nothing new. Just out of curiosity is anyone actually reading this? If so please comment so I should know if I should keep this up or not.

Summer is now officially half over XD and I believe I did fairly well. I also start my 7-hour class today, design II. But I think it will be fun and I already know everyone in the class. I also am not planning to come back to St. Louis till late July, early August, it will be nice to stay in town and get to know the area. I have also added more pictures to the project folder in photobucket so you can see what I have toiled over the past 5 weeks.

Time to post again :D Classes are still going good and I have signed up for classes for the fall. My schedule is a followed:

MWF 1:00-5:00
TR 9:30-10:50, 1:30-2:50, 3:00-4:20

I am coming home this weekend. Be in on friday for the party and probably leave the following Monday. Otherwise thats it for now.

Its been a while since I posted so I think it is time to do so. First of all Happy Father's Day to all who apply. I did go home for the weekend to spend some time with that family and to be with some friends. Had a boat-load of sushi saturday night, and I mean a boat-load.I plan to take pictures again this week of the apartment since we actually decorated. Look for the pictures later this week and I will talk to you all later :D

Well I have been here for 2 days so I think it is time for an update. I am finally moved into my apartment down at Drury :D I have gone around town a little and started to know my way around. I have met both of my roommates and they are nice and we have been getting along great. My first class was today and I like it so far, I think it will help jump start my creative side. There are pictures of me moving in on photobucket so check it out. I have my interview at the library on thursday so hopefully I will have a job this fall. Thats about it for now.

Well its been a while since I have posted so its time for an update. Well yesterday was my last day at the library :( and I will miss everyone. Its only 2 days until I move down to Springfield and its really starting to set in. I also found out yesterday that one of the classes I was going to take have been cancelled so I might use that free time to drive around and get to know the town and my roommates. Well today is my last saturday at the library and its a little bit of a relief. Marilyn brought me in a cake and I had a pizza party for lunch :D People are sad to see me go and I will miss them and their stories on comments.
